Edelbrock STB rubbing disty

Well, since i've had this thing sitting in my garage for about 6 months, I figured I should get around to actually putting it on.

However, when I went to fit it up, I noticed that the rear brace is too thick to fit over the spark plug wires on my MSD 8360 . I removed that top cap that MSDs come with, and am wondering if i can cut off those "nubs" at the top of my taylor spark plug boots (the pieces that pop through the top cap), because that should give me enough clearance.

To clarify, I do have the brace with the rear mounting place facing upward, so thats not the problem.
