Hello All. I have a 1987 Chevy Camaro with a 305 TPI, 700R4, 3.23 Posi Rear End and F41/Z-28 Suspension all from a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am. I'm not totally positive that the rear end is 3.23 gears, but it is Posi, and the rear end has rear disc brakes. If it isnt 3.23s, what other Gear Ratio could it be? Also, is the Rear End a Borg-Warner? Are the Rear Disc Brakes an Uncommon Option? Is the 1988 Pontiac Firebird T/A suspension like the F41 Suspension on the Monte Carlo SS's or is it like the IROC/Z-28 Suspension or are they all the same F-41 Package but just on different cars. Whats the size of the sway bars and are they the hollow kind? Sorry for such a long post... Thanks guys for your help!

My 88 TA had the same engine/trans as yours and I had a 2.73 gear in the back, and it was posi as well. Drum brakes on my car though. The '88 disc brakes were still the old iron calipers which tend to have a lot of problems. Check the rear differential cover. Its the round piece of metal bolted to the back side of the rearend. If it has 10 bolts, its a standard GM 7.5/7.625" 10-bolt rear. If it has 9 bolts, its the Borg-Warner 9-bolt rear. Only way to be sure of gear ratio is to rip the pan off and see what it says on the edge of the ring gear.

The F41 packge is the "performance suspension" package below the WS6 package. Its really nothing special for handling, especially after all these years/miles. Its decent for daily driving if you're not into carving up all the corners. No idea on swaybar sizes, but I can tell you that the rear bar is going to be solid. All of them were. The front bar....hard to say. You can take it off and weigh it. If its under 20lbs, then its hollow. If its higher, then its not. I think my hollow 36mm bar with endlinks weighs like 15.5lbs, for comparison. Other option is to measure it, but I don't know how accurate numbers are on that. I think all 36mm bars were hollow, but I think they made both hollow and solid 34mm bars, and I think all sub-34mm bars were solid. I don't know for sure though, I think there may be exceptions to that.
