SFC's don't just help with the power twisting the chassis, they help when you're going over bumps. They also help when launching, the frame is stiffened by the SFCs and can reasult in a better launch

I would consider a wonderbar purchase before a SFC, if you don't have one already. Thirdgens are notorious for cracking due to stress on the front end. $60 + shipping could save you a lot of troubles in the long run.
SFCs will make the car more solid and help your weight transfer on take offs. It's a nice addition to a car if you really want to do it. For you no it's not an absolute necessity but it wouldn't hurt anything.
I'd probably pick a header upgrade over SFCs at this current point.

My car is almost stock (just the free mods and airfoil, filters and chip) but fitting SFC's to mine made a massive difference to ride quality, steering and braking.
Everyone should have them.

just cause the car is stock doesn't mean SFC won't help
that's like saying well my car is stock so I don't need that cam
or it's stock so why should I get a decent set of heads
or it's stock so why get this or why get that
sure they might not help much stock but remember each part works with everyother part and with SFC as others have sid will be a good improvement
sure stock you prolly won't twist the frame but non the less the frame will still flex which will hurt braking, launching and cornering as the car is not going to give the greatest contact patch to the tires with it's flexing frame
remember it's the suspensions job to absorb energy not the unibody to aborsb it by flexing. the more you allow the suspension to absorb the flex and shock the better your car will perform

Depending on the SFC design, it will help with the twisting motion as well. The route I would like to go is with the Kenny Brown's. They have a piece that comes in towards the trans cross member. http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=6&pcid=36
Take a look and see. I wish I wouldn't have bought the set that I did...oh well, I suppose I can always make extra pieces!

I'm of the opinion that SFCs should be the first mod done on any f-body. I also highly suggest Spohn's SFCs. Yes it's a hefty amount of change to plunk down on something that isn't "performance" oriented, but you can't build a great car without a great platform.
Optimally, you should have the car straightened on a body puller and the SFCs installed immediately afterward.
