If you own a 3rd gen, then simply go outside and measure the center of the tread on one tire to the center of the opposite side tire.

Why is thisimportant to know, are you building a chassis from scratch?

you sure its not hub to hub, i did from tread to tread but wasnt sure how they measure it, they do it hub to hub when measureing the wheelbase, not tire to tire

No, I can gaurantee you that "track width" is the measurement of the tracks the tires would make. It is determined by measuring from center rib of tire-to-center rib of tire.

Hub face measurements is offset. Whether it is the front of the car being measured from the pivot point of the spindle, or it is the rear offset being measured from the flange of the axle, the track width can vary greatly depending on rim offset combined with hub offset. Hence why track width is measured from center tire tread.

Example. take two cars with a 36" wide axle. Both have a hub offset of 2.50" on the rear making the total axle length from hub to hub equal 41". Now put 8" wide rims on both cars with on having a 0 offset rim, and one having a positive 2" offset rim. The first will have a track width of 41", the second a track width of 45"
