Full tube chassis ?'s

I'm going with a full tube chassis on my Formy as soon as possible, but I have some questions for others with with a tube chassis on thier 3rd gen. here is the chassis I'm using, or similar: http://www.chassisengineering.com/pdf/page4.pdf. I was going to have someone else build the chassis for me, but I want to learn how to build it on my own. I was just going to go with stock upgrades, but the more I got into the body of the car while stripping it, the more I found needed replaced structurally.

First, when seperating the floor and firewall, where, or how much of the firewall do I remove? I guess what I mean is how far back? There is a seam close to the door that I guess I cut along and then a few inches from the bottom of the windshield, correct?

I looked through the pic's on http://jbsdragracing.com, but they put the chassis on a 1st gen. And the pic's were mostly of the chassis. Does anyone have pic's of a full tube 3rd gen?

After going to the track last night for the "special" T&T night (only Pro and numbered cars), I really need to get rolling on this car.

I have not seen any on this board. You may be better off just calling the company to find out.

A tube chassis car is a lot of work to build. Don't even think of the factory sheet metal. Normally you start with the tube chassis then hang the exterior sheetmetal off the chassis. The theory is all the same no matter what car body is used so those 2nd gen pics are all you need. Since the entire floor/firewall is cut out, you're only left with the outer shell to work with.

Yeah, I know they are all basically the same. I know there wont be any stock metal left except the shell. I was thinking I might as well do it like I did my truck when I body dropped it and how I'm cutting out the firewall to make a new one to clear my wheels.

I just wondered if there was anything special I had to deal with on my car compared to others.
