Front end rebuild

Well I went to have my car aligned a few days ago and was told my balljoints and centerlink need replaced.

I think im going to go ahead and purchse a full front end kit. I was wondering what is the typical labor charge to complete this?

tie rods, ball joints, idler arm, centerlink?

Right now i dont have the time or a place to tackle this task myself. Will the typical alignment/tire shop do this kind of work?

How long should a shop take to do this?

The biggest pita will be the ball joints.....but 3.5 hours give or take is about right.....
Definitely purchase the parts yourself and bring to them for the install....go with good stuff that'll last like Moog too....

3.5 hours and a half labor charge...

thank *** i work in a shop...its pretty damn handy

ive saved a butt load of money from what would be labor cost from techs helpin me out with stuff...

I did a front end rebuild kit also, parts werent that cheap and i went with all Moog stuff. I learned a lot in doing it myself though.

The ball joints need to be pressed in and its a PITA. It can be done though.. just takes patience.

The Front end kit i used was from Spohn.net

The rest of the parts are easy to install. Just keep a good eye on how the tie-rods are currently adjusted and try to make the new stuff about the same length.

So easy to install, i wouldn't pay the several hundred some shops want to do it.
