Loud noise when I hit bump

I have a really good idea what the noise is from, but I just want to make sure. When I hit a bump (small pothole, that kind of bump) a loud CLANK comes from the back, just like the car bottomed out. I try my best not to hit these bumps because my heart skips a beat when I do, but sometimes its just not possible to miss it. Anyways, from what I've said, what do you guys think it is?

BTW I was going to search, but didnt really know what to search for, so I read the first page and didnt see anything related.

Also: when I turn the wheel somewhat sharp (like to park), the car feels like shes rubbing the inside of the inner wheel well, and it jerks, and if im not giving her any gas, she will stall (giving you an idea of how bad she jerks). What is your take on this?

Thanks ahead of time.

Have you checked all your sway bar mounts and made sure everything is tight. Any repairs done lately? Is your exhaust loose in any way, I had one that was not lined up right and would hit the body. Just throwing some idea's out there.

I had my exhast replaced in late janurary, after I bought the car. There was a hole in the muffler and the pipe was soft, so he did a "from the back of the cat" replacement. Any repairs that were done was prior to when I bought the car, so Im not sure.

Thanks for the reply

I would get under the rear and see if anything is loose. Swaybar bushings, endlinks, exhaust, shocks, springs. Also if you have drums pull them and make sure nothing is loose or broken inside. If the car has some rust I have seen the inside post in drums rust away causing loose springs and shoes. Just watch for falling rust not good in eyes. Safety first. Dees anything feel different or loose when you drive???

I hear a super loud clunk from the back of the car too, but it's only when I'm stopping or on the brakes. I couldn't figure it out either. But I'm switching rear ends soon so when I do the swap if it was the drums, they'll be gone, and I'll try and check everything else.
and I have the same problem with my front steering too, I think it really is hitting the inside fender
