I'm Feeling Low

Whats up everyone? I'm looking to lower my 86' Z28 about an inch or two. I was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions on springs that offer the best handling and ride along with keeping an aggressive stance. In addition to that I would like to know if any other modification are needed to install the springs. Also how would you rate the difficulty of the job.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Jay

I just installed the Eibach Pro-Kit with Bilstein HD Struts/shocks.

The rears coldnt be any easier, i had the rear springs/shocks/panhard par out and in in about an hour.

The fronts were fairly easy also, but not quite as easy as the rear. getting the new springs was a bit difficult but as long as you take your time, its doable. on a scale of 1-10 id put the rear as a 3, If you have someone helping with the front, id say about a 6, if you have to do it on your own, a 8.

Ride quality with the Eibach/Bilstein combo is stiff but not too stiff for a daily driver, handling is AMAZING, car takes a 25mph ramp EASILY at 50 mph.

Thanks for the help. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the kit hit for? Also where did you get it from? How does your car sit, any pics?

try www.tirerack.com and look up the springs.. usually a eibach pro-kit is about $239 + shipping..

there is also the Eibach Sportline spring kit which is lower than the pro kit.. funny thing is is actually cheaper from 199-219$.

you will need to take your car for an alignment after install.

use the "SEARCH" button and you will find ample amounts of discussions on this topic, as well as pictures of peoples cars so you can see what they are like..

search under "sportlines" or Pro kit in the suspension forum.

I got the springs from work, walk in price was $248.88 but i got my discount and got them for right around $200. Ordered them at Advance Auto parts, ride hight compared tot he stock springs was about a 1/2" lower.

Car sits about level, no pictures at the moment, digital camera is broke, hopefully will have some withing the next week.

other costs that were involved were $419 for the Struts/shocks, $125 for Adj. Panhard bar, and $50 for wonderbar. i also replaced the a-arm bushings.
