275 40 17 on rear or 89 IROC

Car: 89 IROC
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 5 Speed
Axle/Gears: 3.08 Posi
275 40 17 on rear or 89 IROC

Will 275's fit on the rear of the car, the car is also lowered 1". I will be going with chrome IROC rims that are 9.5" wide with the stock offset. I'll be running 245 45 17's up front.

Yes, a 275 tire will work.

You generally want to use a tire that is closer to the higher end of the recommended widths of your wheels. I have seen 285s used on 9.5" wide wheels, but would recommend sticking with the 275 tire as it is usually easier to get.

even 315/35/17's will work
