19" rims with 27" tall tires - would it be ok??

Heres the deal. Found out my tires on my old 15" 20 slot rims were 245/65/15. Thats about a 27.5" tall tire. I swaped one wheel with a 16" 20 slot formula ws6 rim with 245/50/16 tire. That tire is 25.6" tall, two inches less.

So, I really like the look of the 27.5" tall tire but would like to have more rim, less tire. The 245/50/16 looks small to me. I was considering going with an 17" rim with 26" tall tires which would have been 285/40/17. But now i kind of want a 27" tall tire with 19s.

Most people seem to recommend 18's max for 25.6 or 26" tires (275-295/35/18). Would 19's be better for the look and performance of a 27" or 27.5" tall tire? Also, would 13 inch disc brakes work well with the huge wheel/tire combo.

Does anyone have pics of a 27" or 28" tall tire with 19" rim or experimented with it??

You can do whatever you think looks best but keep in mind going bigger than OEM overall dimensions will make you more likely to run into problems with rubbing when/if you drop the car. I know one member, FLYNLOW92rs runs 19's with oversized tires and dropzone springs and he had to do some modifications to the body to prevent rubbing (BFH mods).
