DIY steering brace

Has anyone just welded on a bar rather then making it a bolt-in design? Any drawbacks to welding one up to the frame?

I guess nobody did it. Is it because it is too simple, cheap and easy? I will probably give it a try and see what happens. I can't imagine much of anything but intended improvement.

Never noticed the fabrication forum before! Did a search on all forums, after this many years it is full of junk that is not related. Hard to find threads that fit.
