Quick spare tire question

yea i know there's countless topics about it but i am at work so dont have time to search. i have a 91 bird and it came with the air canister spare. all i wanna know is if i can use the regular (already inflated) spare in place of it. i mean will it clear the brakes and all. IIRC a long time ago when i first got the car i tried using the regular spare and it didnt fit for some reason. but i dont remember for sure. thanks.

If you have the 1LE or Baer brakes it may be a problem.
My car came with the 1LE spare but I don't have the 1LE brakes so my car can use either.
If I am not mistaken, if you have a posi rear end, you are suppsed to put the spare on the front only, meaning if you blow out a rear tire, you have to move the front tire back and put the spare on the front.

ok mine is not a 1LE. i am looking for a spare tire for my car and would rather get the small non-inflatable donut.

You learn something new every day
My car doesn't have a posi rear end, but nice to know that info in case..

My spare is one of those space saver things - inflate to 60 psi.

Mark.
