Tire sizing and Rims
I was wondering if there is a difference between front and back factory 5 spoke rims(offset etc) on a 86 Z28 and the maximum size that will fit on the front and the back. I'd like to put the rears on the front 245/60/15 and install 275/60/15 on the back. Will this work? Thanks. Aimless

A bit confused… if you’ve got factory 15” rims all 4 are the same, there is no front and rear.
That being the case, 246 60 15’s _should_ fit on the front but they will rub a little (I used to autox on some G60 15’s that were supposed to be the equivalent of 245/60/15’s on all 4), probably mostly on the plastic inner fender in front and behind the tire, but it isn’t so bad that it’s going to actually harm the tire.
That combination is not going to handle great, especially on a 7” rim…

Thanks for the info so far, I thought I read somewhere that some factory rims for Camaros were different between the front and back. I know someone who has 275/15/60 on a 8" rim, does that extra 1" make a huge safety difference or are his tires/rims possibly unsafe also?

Only the 16" wheels are different front and rear. The 15" are the same all around.
Yes the 1" makes a huge difference.
