i know you guys are probably tired of all the wheel measurement question but this is one subject that i don't know much about. i did a search and learned basics. i am looking at the boyd cottington smoothie IIs. im think about getting them is 17x8 in the front and 17x10 in the back. is this duable. if so what offset would i need. i would like them to have that deep dish look but i dont want them to stick out and look goofy. also what would be a good size tire to run on a 10 inch wheel without anything rubbing. thank you for any help that you can give me.

I would recommend you read www.skulte.com first, Andris's page covering offset and backspacing is probably the best read out there on the subject as it pertains to our cars specifically, and even shows you how to do the math for your own cars or wheels. Next best bet would be searching for "*x10" or "*x10 back*" or "*x10 tire" to find previous posts covering the backspacing and tire sizes for 10" wide wheels (in the subject of backspacing the diameter does not matter so a 16x10 would need the same backspacing as a 18x10). Rubbing will depend on the ride height, so kinda hard to get straight answers about that one.
I run a 18x8 front wheel with 4.5" backspacing and a 245/40/18 tire if that helps any. 17x8 could use the same backspacing, and a tire calculator will tell you the right tire size in relation to stock, would probably be 245/45/17 for a 17x8.
