Hello Third Gen owners,
I have 4 Zr1 rims off of a 1999 camaro SS that i want to put on my 1987 camaro. I was wondering what steps and parts that i would need to make them fit on, because the bolt pattern is not the same.
please answer back.
thank you.

double check that bolt pattern. It should be the same for sure.
i have ZR1 knock offs that are modeled after the real ones, and the bolt pattern is the same. 4th gens have the same bolt pattern as third and even vettes.

The bolt pattern is the same, but they have a different offset. IIRC, you'll need 2.5" adapters made form billet aluminum to bolt those rims on your thirdgen.

Skulte will help you out with the adapters you need. Don't buy the cheap garbage eBay adapters or you'll keep wondering wtf is wrong with your wheels as they're almost invariably out of round. It's an expensive mistake. Skulte also has a chart for what wheels you use and what adapters you need.
Camaro F1 ZR1-style 17x9 50mm 6.8" backspace 2" adapter needed. Provided they're the same rims as what he has listed that is.

4th gen rims have the same bolt pattern but i believe the offsets are different and might have some rubbing issues on the fronts, maybe the rears also. I might be wrong though

I've got a set of SS/ZR-1 wheels off a 98SS on my car. They fit perfect with Skulte's recommended 2" adapters on all 4 corners. And yes, the bolt pattern is the same. I'm currently running a 315/35r17 Nitto drag radial (similar to a 285/40r17 of any other brand) in the rear with no rubbing problems. I run 275/40r17 up front and tucked the wheelwell liners inside of the fender lip for a little more clearance. They do not rub up front.
