i was reading the other post on frame rail cracks in the front end by the gear box and i wondered if the use of a power rack and pinion steering system like the one from hawks would take the stress out of that area? and i just noticed my 91 Z doesnt have a wonderbar whats up with that? ive cornered my car a lot and it is lowered with very stiff suspension and i hope i havnt started to wear that area. im the type of person where if something is wrong with my frame i just loose all interest and want to get rid of the car and i hope thats not gonna happen. im gonna check it out tomorow for any stress cracks keepin my fingers crossed.

R&P would eliminate the possibility of cracks in that area since the whole problem is thin frame and the steering box.
If it's cracked then weld some plate steel over the area and put the box back. Add a wonderbar. Easy fix and much cheaper than going to a R&P setup.

ok sounds good....i checked and couldnt find any cracks, wonderbar time, and im gonna look into the Hawks R&P

Good move. The first things I recommend on any thirdgen f-body is frame straightening, subframe connectors, and a wonderbar. Definitely invest in some good weld-on SFCs
ya thats how i work too... have a nice set of weld in SFC's already and need to find a chassis shop in my area that will weld in a CM 10 pt cage.
