What to do with these wheels....

.....strip them or paint them?

I just got the car painted a few weeks ago, same color by the way, but the wheels could use a little help. I'm going to repaint the center caps of course, but the wheels themselves could use a clean up. They aren't horrible, but I want them to be better. What's the best/easiest stuff to use (that I can pick up locally) to strip them, and what do you think about painting them silver as opposed to just clearing them? By the way, the car color is officially Dark Green-Gray Metallic according to the window sticker.

was there supposed to be a picture with this??

to strip them.. go to checker or something you have out there.. you want to buy Aircraft paint stripper... its a light blue and white can, with an airplane on it.. that stuff will strip anything. just follow the direction on the can... make sure you have a good high pressure hose nossle to wash away the left over paint after its done..

Yes, there was.....got it this time (not sure why it didn't take before)

Anyway, I believe there was a clear originally as it appears there is still some left in places. I suppose stripping wouldn't hurt either way, but should I paint them silver after or just shoot some new clear on them?

EDIT: this is the car before repainting - it doesn't look bad here but trust me, it needed paint badly as it was literally flaking off the roof and hatch

I took my WS6 wheels to a place that did "Dry Strip". They use a plastic media instead of sand or glass bead. It cost me $60.00 and was well worth it. The wheels looked like virgin castings with a dull finish to them, then I painted them, and the lug/center caps with an aluminum wheel paint from Auto Zone. They look like new. The pic is after I painted them. I only painted the front of the wheels, but I had the guy strip them front and back to clean them up.

It might cost a little more to have them done now, since I had it done 2 years ago and the guy said he didn't know it was going to be as much work as it was. But he stuck to his quote of $60.00.
