I found some custom wheels for sale for very cheap, origianlly made for an s10. it has a 5on4.75 pattern and 3.5 inch backspacing. will this work without spacers? also, the wheels are 15x7. what range of tire sizes could go on those? because i have 15s right now with 90% tread left on tires. my tires now are 215/??/r15 and 275/60/sr15. would this work? would i just need new fronts? heres a pic.
i think ill be the only one on the black with those..i hope. i wanted to be original, and i really like these, so why not. 300 shipped.

Nope, not even close... the 3.5" backspacing will put them about 1" out further then stock, any decent size tire on the back will stick way out and the front, even with a narrow enough tire to look OK will steer funny...
If your fronts are a stock height they're probably 65's

Actually, those wheels would work.
The original '82-'84 Z28 wheels were 15x7s with 0" offset (aka 3.5" backspacing). If you put 235/60s on all 4, they would fit fine. A 7" wide rim isn't optimal for handling (especially since you can stuff a 8" or 9" wide rim with the right backspacing) but they'll look good on a 3rd Gen.

Wrong… they were 7”, but they have a 1/2” offset in. Originally posted by TPI Monte SS

Even your G-body which came with a 0 offset 7” wide rim in most cases will still have a 4” backspacing, backspacing includes the lip width which the rim width does not.

I had 15x8 with 3.5 backspacing on the rear of my car. 26x10.5 MT and i didnt like it. Stuck out too much I went with 5.5 and glad I did.
Any pics of the 5.5” backspacing wheels on the back? I’m guessing that they would be just about perfect with a WIDE tire, but it’s further in the most people try and am slightly surprised that you’re not getting rubbing on the inside.

I have some on my camera. Ill get them later. Its raining like crazy right now.
that should be right around 1" of offset, at some point I intend to try 15x10's with somewhere between .75 and 1" of offset so I'm really curious (and not at all worried about cutting up and reweldign the inside to make it look the way I want it)

I had a set of Wheel Vintiques on my TA at one point. I ordered them in a 15X8-5.5 backspace for the rear and a 15X7-4.5 for the front. They looked great and there was plenty of room for a 255/60-15. I had some pics at one time and even posted them here but now I can't find them.Originally posted by 83 Crossfire TA

Edit: you could maybe even fit a 275/60-15 with this combo.
