Put the jacks forward of where the rear control arms mount to the rear subframe rails.

Easy to see, just follow it from where the control arms mount to.

AS far as dropping it, its easy as pie.

Disconnect brakes and plug the line(unless u want to rebleed the whole system master cylinder included)

Than undo the emergency brake cables and driveshaft and torque arm bolts.

Then unbolt the shocks and than the control arms with the rear suspended.

Should be a pretty quick job

later

im robbing the calipers off of it for my trans am but other than that i plan to sell it

Right where he mentioned is perfect, won't teeter at all. I just did this swap last weekend...took out 2.77's and put in 3.42's...
You might want to have another jack sitting under the rear end as well, so when it drops, it doesn't drop to the floor, then you can slowly lower it and roll it right out.

Go here for a few pics. Not very detailed, but I think you might get to see the jack stands...

RearEnd Drop

Good luck...

when i did my rear swap a while back i set the jacks in teh same position everyone else mentioned above, however i only jacked the car enough so that the axle was still resting on the ground, i remove the brakes from the axle but left it all in tact to the calipers. after the torque arm and driveshaft were removed, and i dropped all teh suspension components, the axle rolled right out.

hey anyone ever use evapo-rust?
i was wondering if it would work good i bought a bottle to soak the calipers in before i paint them

if it does anything it claims it will save me a good deal of time

also if you have used it do you have to clean (soap and water) the surface after submersing before you paint?

thanks guys gonna get this thing back to new looking and order all the poly bushings
