Replacing rear calipers... problems w/p-brake levers

I'm replacing the rear calipers/rotors on a '86 T/A (loaded remanufactured ones from Napa) and when I went to put on the parking brake levers for the p-brake cable, I noticed that the driver's side went on fine and I was able to tighten it down. However, the passenger's side "screws" out when I twist it. I can still tighten it down, but the bolt that the p-brake lever is attached to moves out away from the caliper (1/2" or more) when I twist the p-brake lever (I forgot what direction makes it move out, but it's only one way). Is this supposed to happen? I'll have another good look at it tomorrow, but I don't recall the driver's side doing this. I just wanted to make sure that this was supposed to happen (or not) so I can either continue or return the caliper for a new one.

Thanks.
