rubbing with IROC wheels now?
When I first got my 89 RS, the guy before me put on some crap rally wheels and BFGs. I beleve the size was 225/60 15. I just got some IROC wheels and bolted em on tonight, and YES I did put the front wheels on the front, and rears on the rears. Tires on all corners are 255/50 16s. But, now I notice going from lock to lock my tires are scrubbing on the backside of the fender well liners. Could it be that the tires are too tall for the fronts, or could it have something to do with me having an RS with IROC wheels??
EDIT: I just looked on the F body CD and noticed that there is a spacer for these wheels, looks kinda small. Whats that for? DO I need it, and if so are they for all four wheels, or just the front or rears?

I wonder if I could swap out the stops, or are they made into the a-arm?
What about the spacer? Any idea?

Spacers for the rear only. Many people run without them, including me.

So are the a-arms the same with the exception of the stops? If so, couldnt I swap out the stops?
And Im also wondering if 255/50 16 is a little too big for the front. Maybe drop it to a 225 or 235/50. Suggestions?

i think a swap to a steering box that came from a 16" car will have the lock built into it. i put an iroc quick ratio on my 85 ta. the t/a originally had 15" wheels, and the quick ratio box from factory. we put the iroc box on, and it would no longer rub.

What he said, new stering box. Also I have 255/50/17. And I still rub when the suspension is fully loaded. Don't know which of our tires are taller but thought you should know.
