I'm going to take my stock GTA rims off and put on a set of 17 inch Crager SS rims. Can someone tell me what the correct backspacing is on this car so I can buy 4 identical rims and not have to worry about clearance on the front/rear... like I do with the 16's.

No, they are gold... and as much as I really don't care for them I know someday I will want them back on the car.

Right now I'm having a heck of time finding the correct tire and rim combo I want because of tire height, and available tire size.

I thought this was unique to my '96 Impala, but nope, just can't seem to get the look I want in the tire I want with the wheel I want. WAH WAH WAH... I know.
