bad ride affecting handling

hey I posted awhile back on the bad ride quality on my ws6 formula but just wrote it off as just the way the car is....

on smooth road it rides and handles like a dream going any speed (85 mph on thruway feels great), but recently while rushing to work down a slightly rough curvey road behind my girlfreind in her very slow saab I realized I could barely keep up through the turns... every time I hit a few bumps the car feels like its guna hop off the road and the vibrations are so bad i feel like the cars gunna break apart it, makes me veeerryy uncomfertable going fast

could this be my shocks being blown? maybe bushings? the car is very nice and has been well taken care of but it just seems strange that on non race track smooth roads the ride would be so terrible it would actualy severly hinder performance. Im not looking for a cushy ride this just doesent feel right. sorry this is so long im just despret to know what to do about this as it soon will be in my garage to be worked on all winter thanks alot

When you stiffin up the chasis on a car it tends to get like that on rough roads. Just think about those indy cars that run on race tracks and street circuits. They run two completly different setups for each type of course. On glass smoth stiff works great because the tire just follows the road. When you start hitting the bumpy stuff, the tire wants to bounce. So stiffer springs will cause the tire to bounce more. Same goes for a car with bad shocks. Theres no dampening of the spring so the tire will bounce causing poor handling.

yea I see I guess I was just looking for an in between... do you think new oem shocks all around will help ride quality?

after driving on a few differnt roads today im beggining to realize that the road i was driving on when it got very uncomfertable is a realy bad road and maybe im just being over sensitive

do you think subframe connectors will make it all worse? I heard it eliminates many of the creaks and flexing of the t-tops and other parts. I ask because I am replacing the carpet anyway and putting in some lighteight sound deadener so i figure while the ineriors bare id weld them in thanks for the responce

Subframes help any thirdgen, even more if you have t-tops or vert. Rattles, body twist. Again, on a ruff road it will be harsher to hit the bumps.

I say add the subframes since your already "half way there".
