Ooook... So maybe I haven't exactly...
But, recently did my rear shocks on my 84' Firebird.
And let's say I'm out driving around and have to go over a speed bump or what not...
My front end kinda bobbles and I ALWAYS scrape the ground... Grrr... That noise is painful to me....
And my rear kinda goes ka-CHUNK. Even if I'm going like 5 mph, it seriously feels like the *** is just dropping off a cliff. (Or 15, or 20, or 10, any speed you can imagine.)
(Hence my topic subject. Hehehehe...)
Anyone else ever have this problem? Is it a poblem? My rear shocks got replaced right about a month ago. Do you have to break them in?
Someone... Advice... Por favor.

The front end thing may have to do with struts but these cars sit low in general so you do have to be careful with the front end no matter what (and the exhaust for that matter)
As far as the back end feeling like your falling off a cliff when you hit a bump I think that's something you just have to get used to with these cars The formula I currently have had all the suspension replaced by the previous owner (mystery components) and its the highest sitting and floatiest I have ever been in and the rear still feels like that.
When it gets really fun is when your coming around a corner and it kinda bounces and jumps at high speed
Scared myself a few time on freeway on ramps in these things

I'll bet your stock base firebird springs are nice and saggy, which may put alot of dampening duty on your shocks... maybe look into beefier aftermarket springs. Oh, and if your car is making a clunking noise from the rear suspension, its probably because a bushing somewhere is worn down or completely MIA... check your sway bar bushings, if not all of them for that matter. Good luck with it, and don't hesitate with any more questions

i have the oposite problem, the front end of my car is weak as hell, I have a trans am sway bar in the rear, and stock sway in the front, the rear is stiff as hell cornering, yet the front leans. May also be the tires, they are not hardwall tires..
