Z06 rim adapters, Kandied91z I know you can answer...

Ok, I really want black Z06's (made for 4th gen), but they have to sit right!! I will be going with 18's and I have the stock third gen rear, what size adapters will have the rims sitting properly?? I do not want these rims poking out the fender/quarter lips AT ALL!! I did a search, but I really would like to know what size adapters Kanidied91z used with his Z06's, because I want my rims to sit as tastefully as possible. Thanks to anyone who can help with this!!

I believe he went with 2" spacers as do most others running fourth gen wheels. That should look bad *** by the way..

so the 2 inch spacer wouldnt throw the rim out. could you have it more tucked in with a smaller adapter and still have it fit, but be further in?

I have 2" rear and 2 1/4" front. They set flush with the fenders. There is room to go with less spacer> i bought the wheels used and they came with these adapters. 2" front would be about right. I think 1.5" rear would clear. My rear inner fender have been massaged from prevoius slicks installed. I have 9" ford rear and have installed ls1 brakes on front. 18x10.5 rear 18x9.5 front. hope this helps

its is a stock width moser 9". I just moved and my garage is full of crap.....I might be able to move some stuff. What angles would you like?

yeah pretty much kandied passed a lot of knowledge down to me when i went with my z06's... Let me tell you what. After what he told me about him switching from his z06's to a different rim was all clear to me after about 6 months running mine. But if you persist....Start with 2 inch spacers all around. Test fit and see how much more you can go in. Send the spacer back to skulte and there you go , they machine more off. 2 inch in the front was perfect for me, I had a 9.5x18 with a 275/35/18 perelli tire. When i would turn the wheel tight it would rub so i had to bang the lip at the bottom of the front inner well, had to make it like curl so it wasn't taking a chunk out of my expensive tires. It was tucked in a bit tho i must admit. As for the rear, 2 inch was too much i'm thinking a 1.75 or even a 1.5 would have worked. That was with a 10.5x18 rim with a 295/35/18 kumho tire.

I don't think i'm going to run my z06's again. Spacers are so much of a pita..Expect to jack the car everyweek for about 3-5 weeks checking every single lug nut. I have 2k invested in this set up and i'm sure i could get something much more fit for the car for this amount. Good luck. I wish they made these in our offsets.

it all depends on the offset of the rim you purchase. every company makes different offsets. i used a 2 1/4" up front and 2" rear but i had a +65 and a +58 or +54 in the rear. can't remember but if you search you'll find it. would not recommend it but if you can't find the help you need email me.

Shifty, if you read my first post you would see that, YES I did use the search feature. I know there are a ton of posts concerning this issue, but then every picture I see, the rims never sit rite! I did not find KandiedZ's post on the size of his spacers, but I will check again, and I do apologize for the repetative post.

That will work, but IMHO it's not hard to make a mock-up spacer out of a block of wood and a few nuts and bolts. Just put the car up on jackstands, and use a jack to position the control arm at ride height -- check the wheels at full lock in both directions, repeat at full droop, and full bump. Figure out what thickness you want, then order it and be done with it, instead of mailing parts back and forth.

if you know the backspacing/offset of the rim you want to use then simple math will make it possible. that's too much work to do the above. few minutes with the right measurements of the wheel and knowing your factory settings you'll be just fine.

Yes, but if you're cutting it close the difference in section width between different tire brands/models can make a difference, so I'd prefer to measure if possible.

This is actually a really good idea. If I do end up using spacers, I will probably use a procedure like this to perfect the fit, thanks.

If you go to www.rims-n-tires.com, you can select rim size, width, tire size, car type etc. It will then calculate if that combo will work on your car. If it will, it will tell you the spacers need and other related info. Its a really cool page.

And by the way they need more 3rd gen cars, right now they only have two camaro
