The bar above the Panhard?

I had to remove all of my suspension in the rear to do a fuel pump. While doing so, I realized that the bar above the panhard bar (connects from right above one end of the panhard to 3 bolts on the driver's side of the frame) had a rusty bolt on the pass. side and the place where the bolt passes through was all rusty inside. I even had to bang the bolt out with a rubber mallet.

A few questions: What is the name of this bar? Are there any aftermarket replacement options? I'd like to at least put a new nut & bolt on the end of it, but with the rust inside, a new bolt probably will not go through. Can I just drill out all the rust buildup in there?

I figure since it's bolted on one end, it can't do too much as a suspension piece. It's probably just a support for the panhard itself? Can anyone shed a little light on the subject?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks,

KZad

panhard rod brace.
There is a single company that makes an aftermarket one, (forget now, try a search on panhard brace), it's mainly to add extra room for larger exhaust.

I had to cut that bolt off, then drill it out it was so badly in there... GM got me a new bolt for $3, but it didn't show up on their computer, so i'm hoping it was the same bolt as the ones for the panhard rod. Then get the conical locking nut (GM or otherwise...) I think it's a stepped bolt, M12-M14 or something, so that's why you can't just grab a hardware store bolt.

I think BMR has one that works together with the Panhard Bar. I doubt it works or is even available separately.

Correct BMR Sells a new track bar brace for I think $219.00. I also know there is another company out there who sells one as well but I cant come up with the name of the company right this minute.
