Do All Stock 16" Wheels Have Different Offsets?

I hope this is the correct section to post this.

I've been looking around on eBay for a set of stock 16" wheels to replace my 15"s. This style in particular:

Do all of these wheels have different offsets front and rear? What about the wheels from S-10s? Most of the auctions for them don't specify offests. If so, will they still fit my car?

Thanks for the help.

all of the stock 3rd gen 16" wheels have a different offset front and back. I have no idea about S10 wheels.

So would I need spacers for the rear wheels? What exactly is the reason for the different offsets anyway?

actually, if you use front offset thirdgen 16" wheels on the rear, it will push them out a bit. Many people run their wheels this way and it provides a more aggressive stance and no problems.

I ran those 16x8 S10 wheels on my Camaro. The offset was the same front & rear. IIRC it was 4".

I personally don't like wheels pushed out of the fender well. I just want it to look like the car came stock with those wheels.

Ricktpi:
How did your car look with the S-10 wheels? Was there any rubbing? Did they stick out at all? Any pics?

Is there any difference between Camaros that came with 15s and those that came with 16s that would prevent me from just bolting up the 16s?

No one knows the reason for the different offsets?

ya the offset makes room for the extra width of the wheel to clear suspention components. the 15" and smaller did not need this to clear. and it should not be a very noticeable amount. mabe 1/2" or at the most 1" extra out to the sides if you have wide tires. 14" around 6" wide 15" around 8" wide and the 16" i think are closer to 9" or 10" wide and if you keep the same outer edge position on the car the width must go to the insaide edge. the different offset on the 16s moved the mount point in so as to make the extra width go to the outside edge on the 16" the rear did not need this so it stayed the same but the front would hit on the steering and suspention if they did not move it out.

Edit: no difference between the different cars the wheel offset and clearance is the same. 16" fronts will go no all 4 spots but rears will only go on the rear not the front.

so on 16" wheels example '89 iroc rear has a 4" offset and the front is less. Can you tell me what the offset is in the front?

the rear offset for a third gen is 12mm. I run a 0 offset front and rear and my tires don't stick out past the fender.

Rear offset on 3rd gen 16" rims is supposedly 16mm, but if you actually measure it it ends up being between 20 and 22mm in real life
