I know this has probably been addessed before, but I did a search and I diden't come up whith anything useful, what are the wideest tires I can put on the rear using GTA wheels an an 84 Z-28, I am willing to do some minor masaging of the inner fenderwells to get them to fit.

255/50/16 is the widest easily available size for a street tire,
I had Toyos on my GTA wheels back in teh day,

 

is there any way, with allitle masaging W/ a big hammer I could fit somthing allitle wider in there...I know I don't have the best tyers on there right now, but I have serious traction problems

 

you can fit much bigger tires than that on a third gen without hammering, they just won't work with rims that are only 8 inches wide.

 

I have gotten a 295 50 16 on a stock rim it will sitck out of the well though and it will rub when ou hit bumps I had air bags in the springs to stiffen the rear up
