best wheel widths/backspacing

I'm looking to get some nice lightweight wheels for the Camaro, and if my reinlistment bonus is fat enough (which I believe it will be), I'm willing to pay for custom sizing, so I'm gonna try for a set of Volk GT-P's 'cause they're freakin' hott. Anyway, what size 17" wheels do you think would be best, front and rear, for a car thats been ligtened some ('glass hood, smog delete, aluminum heads, no interior, ect.) that will eventualy be pushing 350-400ish RWHP? This is my drift car, so I don't want massive 13" wide rears, but I want enough rubber on the road to hold me down when need be.

I think you should base the wheel widths and specs on the tire sizes you want to run front/rear.

There are alot of people running 17x9.5" Wheels front and rear with no problems on a 5.5" Backspacing. Another option is 17x9.5 rear and 17x8 front with 4.5 backspacing(on front). I had a set of ROH ZS wheels on my 92 RS and ran the 17x9.5's front and back with 275/40/17 tires. Worked well for me but i am clueless about drifting so you may have to talk with crazy hawiian about that. You can get away with a 10" wide wheel in the rear..........jt
