STB with CAI for TBI
STB with CAI for TBI
No pics yet but I just finished my first ride with my STB and TDS wonderbar. Let me tell you, if your dash squeaks and rattles YOU NEED THESE.
The STB is made of 1 inch square hollow tubing. I bent it into an arch using measurements made on the car and persuasion with the help of the trailer hitch on my work truck. Starting from the center of the bar and working my way out to the ends for both sides, I gradually shaped the arch. Next, I cut the bar to length, leaving a little length for cutting the end angles. Two 3/16 steel plates welded to the ends, and four 5/16 bolts with fender washers top and bottom with lock washers under the nuts and I was done.
This thing takes a corner flat now. 90 degree doglegs at 35 with no slide or creaking.
I'm going to re build another bar with different ends for appearance. I don't weld. My welder said the difference in thickness between the bar and the end plates caused the ugly welds.
