Low & Smooth?

Hey everyone,
Ive got a 91 RS with an eibach prokit and KYB GR2 shocks & struts. Sometimes I think the suspension is too firm. When I am going fast down the highway, the ride is fine. But, the ride gets pretty crappy on rough roads.

Are there any springs for our cars that will give me the same stance as the prokit, but offer a smoother ride. I know the car will never ride like a cadaliac, nor would I want it to. But I am willing to give up a little handling for a smoother ride. Moog springs would probably give me the ride I am after, but I want to keep the lowered look.

How about shocks? I know I have the cheapies on there now. Would upgrading to Bilstiens or adjustables on there lowest setting help with ride quality? Or just with handling?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in Advance,
Mark B

i am in the minority here but the pro-kit stinks!! The springs are too soft for their ride height. Your KYB's don't help the situation either, you need a really good shock with the too soft low riding prokit. I had a prokit with tokico hp's. Rode nice except when the speeds increased it bottomed badly. The hp's quickly went south. I bought illuminas and iroc moogs. I threw the illuminas in before ditching the prokit, they made a big difference but not enough to keep the prokit off the bumpstops. My favorite camaro springs that i have experienced are the guldtrand slalom springs, they are cut moogs but i don't know the part numbers. I would save myself hours of labor if i had to do it again and just get the slalom springs. My brother has had them for over 10 years and they are great.

I agree with you. prokit stinks...but my reasoning is slightly different. My rear springs didnt drop the car any noticable amount. The front came down a bit.

I to am running the tokico hp's with them...im not happy with their abilty to dampen these springs either.

I plan on picking up a set of stock ws6 springs and trimming them to my liking and adding koni yellows.
