weight transfer at the strip....
Ok, i'm building an '88 Iroc to do ET racing with, this is my first race/ project car ever so i'm looking to hear any tips, tricks, do's and dont's about setting my car up for the best weight transfer and traction off the line.. when all is said and done i'll have around 425hp and a TH350 tranny... so lay it on me....
1. Remove front sway bar
2. Box rear lower control arms.
3. Add stiffer bushings to the arms, and torque arm bracket.
4. Install Spohn antisquat brackets. (weld on)
5. C/E adjustable drag shocks.
6. Tubular panhard rod.
7. Sticky tires.
This is all I have done to my car. 1.57 60' times with ET streets. I still do not see the need for the expensive TQ arm. I just added a looser converter, so I am hoping the 60's improve. The Spohn brackets will help the rear lift. Just transfering the weight only, will cause the car to squat. When this happens the traction hindered. I dont have alot of money in my suspension, and it works well.

lca relocation brackets
boxed lca's
stock torque arm with poly bushing
poly bushings on stock rear sway bar
v6 springs (i cut a coil off all the way around to lower the car some, but i only weigh 3200lbs w/ driver)
no front sway bar
subframe connectors
275/60/15 m/t et street radials.
best 60' to date has been a 1.645, but not under full power yet.

I'd start off with just no front sway bar, slicks, and some frame connectors. 425hp isn't a whole lot you'll easily be able to hook that on the factory suspension ...so long as its all in good shape.
