C-5, ZR1 Rims and Tires
I am looking into getting some rims for my car and most places you go are full of retards who only know what the computer tells them, anyways,
I cant really find any custom rims that I like, So I have decided on going with either the chrome C5, the 2000-up rims, the ones with the skinny spokes, 18"s all around. Or I wanna go with some of the chrome corvette, ZR1 rims. They're usually in 17's but I found one place that sells on ebay that sells them in 18"s. How do these fit? Anyone have some pics of a TA with them(especially the C-5's)? I know the C-5s are a FWD backspacing, So i'll need adapters, but with the ZR1's, they still arent the right backspacing, SO will I need adaptors with that too?
I also want to know what sizes will fit for both rims. I had some 20's on the car and they didnt rub, and they were all 4 245/35/20. I figured about a 245/35/18 in the front, and maybe a 285/35/18 in the back. Will this fit without rubbing on a lowered 86 TA? I dont want the wheels sticking out of the fender at all either because I think that looks horrible.
Any information/suggestions/ideas you guys have would be useful. Thanks

i have 17" 245/40 up fronts with 2" spacers and 18" 275/35 in the rear, with a 1.5" drop, no rubbing problems

no spacers in the back, i have 4th gen axle with disc brakes, so far i like the ride, except for when i have 2 people in the rear seats, then you feel all the bumps in the road with the added weight.

I am not sure if the backspacing is different on the 97-99 and 00-05 C5 wheels, but I had the 97-99 C5's and the rears rubbed with my LS1 rear. We had to beat the lower inner fender well with a hammer and then I ran some 7/16" slip on spacers just to get some added clearance just in case.
