Steering column at firewall

I have a little play where the steering column comes out of the firewall. The dealer says that's a bearing and it's 47.00 for the part, plus 18.00 for the holder. Has anyone had this apart ? It looks more like a bushing than a bearing...

I looked it up in my service manual and there's definitely a bearing and bearing retainer, so I would say he's probably right.
