Can't Get Stock Springs Back in HELP ME

Spring compressors are junk. They are all to bulky and get in the way when you try to seat the spring. I have heard alot of you say that lowering spring can be installed without a spring compressor, but has anyone done an install of stock spring without a compressor. The stock springs won't seat in the a-arm because they are to tall, even with the a-arm hanging at a 90 degree angle. I think that explains why the lowering springs work because an inch or two is about all it would take to get them to seat in the a-arm.
Please help me.
