Wild Steering!

Anyone experience wild steering when putting on wider wheels? I just put on 17 x 9 1/2 Z06 rims all around and I'm not having very much fun. If you hit a lump or uneven surface it wants to turn. When I mean turn I mean I have to fight the steering wheel a little to keep straight. The steering wheel jolts and it scares the hell out of me. I'm going to get it aligned on monday, but I don't think It's that bad. What I have noticed is that every time I put on a wider rim it gets a little harder to handle. I had 15x7's(225 60 16) then I installed 16x8 Irocs(245 50 16) and now 17x9 1/2's(275 45 17). Anything I should check or do?

Ditto on the alignment.

Check for any obvious issues like loose or worn parts.

Almost willing to bet an alignment with the current rims/tires will clear up 95% of the problem.

I have a similar problem after going wider and lower profile. It is mostly on roads where the lane is rutted from large trucks

Yeah, you have to pay the price when running wide wheels in the front. I used to have that problem with the 17x9.5" ROH ZS wheels I had. This time around I am sticking to an 8" wide in the front.........jt
