ET Streets / Wheel Size Help

88 GTA, converted to LS1 power. Want to put ET Streets on it to see if I can get it to hook up. What size ET street will fit without rolling fenders, clearance work, etc? What size wheel should I go with and what back spacing? Any specific (inexpensive) type wheels you would recommend. It's going to look a little goofy with gold lace wheels up front and anything else on the back anyway so not to worried about the look.

Currently has stock size tire 255/50/16 on the stock GTA rims. GTA wheels will still be daily drivers, ET streets/wheels for track days only.

Thanks!

Centerline ConvoPro. 15 x 8.5 with 5 inch back spacing, with 27 x 10.5 ET Streets, is what I use with no fender problems at all. Weld, and some other mfg's have them avaliable in 5.5 B/S, which is better yet, but the 5" will be fine. All depends on which rims you like better.

You can always spring for skinnys up front, and it wont look goofy, and you will probably pick up a tenth, and a MPH.

Do they do those same wheels in a 16" and if so would that still work?

I guess as long as the rear tire is at least as tall as the fronts (26.25) it would be ok. Wouldn't want to get that reverse rake thing happening. Current wheels are 16's

i have a stock 16" IROC wheel with a MT ET street 28x11.5 inch tire

No work at all involved putting them on, i dinged in my inner wheel well a bit but it wasnt needed, no fender rolling whatsoever. She hooks and goes.

Most of the lightweight race rims are avaliable in 15s. I know that Weld does make them in 16s. I use my 16s stockers, for everyday use, then I bolt on the 15s at the track.

If you want to remain 16s, even while racing, just get another pair of rims that match your 16s, and go with the 26 x 10.5-16 ET Streets. Just change em at the track.

Just like SnkSknrZ28 does. Just go with the smaller tire.
