well you switched from a slick to a drag radial. the slick typically is better for the track for 60' times. You bought a tire that you can drive to the track and back home. I would have expected the tires to not hook as well either. did you try different pressures in the drag radials?

Try playing with the pressure, launch technique, etc. Im sure you will get them to hook. There has been problems with those tires in manual equipped cars, but, I dont recall anyone having issues with autos. The same thing happened to me when I was doing 1.68s with my BFG radials, then they went up to 1.75s with my ET Streets. After playing around, the 60s improved.
If you do not have relocation brackets, I would install them.
I have Spohn brackets, SFCs, Drag shocks (rear only), "boxed" LCAs, and a tubular adjustable panhard, and I 60' at 1.54s, with ET Streets.
Welcome to TGO, you'll get better at the computer thing...dont worry.

best of 1.66, consistent 1.66-1.69. - 315/35 nitto dr's, homemade tq arm, lca's, relocates, and in-floor frame(set-up is beyond sfc's), 8-point roll cage, 5-speed trans, 5k side-step.
play with the pressure and launch rpm. I also agree on the lca relocates, but with previous 1.6X range, lca angle probably isn't too bad.
- Many street cars have gone faster on the radial tires than slicks. I've even seen better 60fts. - it all comes down the the suspension tune-up.
definition of "street" - factory type suspension, non-back-halfed cars...for this post anyway...

I know this is an old post but I made my spohn torque arm work with the mufflex Y-pipe. My best 60' time is 1.47 with a 6.72@106 mph 1/8th. Here is what I did. I decided not to use the spohn crossmember. I then modified the factory crossmember to mount to the front of the torque arm. I made a mount to to accept the front of the torque arm and welded it on. I don't have pics but it works perfect. Not as beefy as the spohn crossmember but still works.
Hey 94, do you have any pics of that set up. I use the Mufflex 4", and can not use the Spohn arm, but would like to....Thanks!
94-6spd - good idea. Yes, it wouldn't be as beefy, but it'd work good(well...obviously it does) - I'd probably do a little bracing on it though, maybe some small angle or some small round tube welded across the bottom to strenghten it a bit.
jamiehoyts - anything new? - I'd try uping the psi to around 25. Radials don't squat like slicks, so the lower pressure just causes you to loose contact patch.
