Profab is most definetly out of buisness but the owner is still doing roll cages and such. He'll probably start up on his own again in the near future.

I haven't seen the AJE 3rd gen k-member, but I've got a buddy running one in his stang. Nice piece IMO. The only issue he's had was that it combined with the aje tubular a-arms had a "clunk" when turning sharp. His factory arms don't clunk with just the k-member though.
- Last I read on here a lot of people were having issues with fitment/quality with the profab k-members. - don't qoute me on that, do a search, but I'm pretty sure it was the profab units.

Alot of the fitment issues from Pro Fab had to do with inexperienced welders being allowed to build parts. It really used to be a 50/50 shot out there of getting a great peice of equipment or a hunk of crap. The jigs they used needed finess to make the parts properly. If you got a part that was built by Vern or ***** then you got a good part, any of the other employees, well just look up the complaints on Profab and you'll see.

The only fitment problem I had with my Profab was that I had to trim a corner off one of the mounts that attaches to the body at the left front. Maybe a 1/4" or so needed to be trimmed from a corner. Other than that, everything fit fine.
A factory k-member uses 4 bolts to hold it to the body. 2 long ones in the front and 2 short ones at the rear. It would have been nice if they provided mounting bolts. I had to go to the junk yard to get 2 extra short bolts since the Profab needs 4 short bolts to mount it.
