i was wonderin if there are any befifits to having a crossmember mounted torque arm apposed to a trans mounted one ? like most of spohn's im converting to a 700r4 and i need a new tq arm so its seems cheaper just to get both at once im just wondering the difference thanks

 

The one that I know about is the BMR Trak-Pak, I recently asked for opinions on using one on the street. If you're more into handling (like I am), I'm not sure how much difference it would make, but if you're heavily into drag racing, then removing the launch stresses from the tranny's tailshaft can't be a bad thing...

 

they're never a bad thing, they're just not always necessary. - If you're more into handling, get a spherical front mount so the bar can twist for proper suspension cycling. If you're into drag racing; street tires, go poly, it absorbes some of the "hit" allowing the tires to hook better, slicks...IF you have enough bite on tires alone, run the spherical it'll transfer faster to the tires.

One of the biggest gains is adjustability. No car likes the same pinion angle. - Also as rumble stated, with enough power you can snap the tail-housing off the trans with the tq arm.
