you'd need one inch spacers to put them on the car.

just what xpndbl3 said you could run 1" spacers which would still require a little "massaging" to the inner fenderwells as i had to do with my 5.5 b.s. nothing a dead blow hammer wont fix

You can use those 6.5 in backspace rims if you do a little work. I am using the same amount of backspace on my 83 with 28x12.5 MT ET Streets. No spacers. My rims are 5.5 and I had my 9in rear made one inch narrower on each axle, ends up being 6.5 inches of backspace.

To do so I had to cut off the spring pockets flush with the "frame", at the front of the wheel well the tire will touch and metal has to be cut out and new metal welded in to make space, as well as on the upper inward part of the wheel well needs to but cut, pushed in and new metal welded in to make space or some people just...tweak it with a hammer.

My 28x12.5 MT ET Streets are tucked in from the wheel well lip about an inch. I am not crazy about having tires sticking out and having to jack it up to keep from rubbing as I have seen some poeple do.

I don't know how your car is set up in the rear but I cut off the bracket for the panhard bar and spring pockets for space. I am using ladder bars and coilovers with a diaganal link. But I know there are others that have done the same thing with I believe factory style rear suspentions.

I have a few pics of my rear tires on here but I don't know how to reattach them here. I don't post often so if you search my posts it will be easy to find.
