my 92 firebird has worn out shocks and springs. i want to replace them for i bottom out easily. but i plan to drop a 93-05 LT1,LT4 or Ls1 engine (92 corvette) in. with this heavier and stronger engine will i need to get more heavy duty shocks and springs? i dont want to get new stuff and then have to change it b/c of the bigger engine.

get some v8 springs and you will be fine.

 

ok i got a 1992 pontiac firebird stock suspinsion with a v8 i went to do a u turn and it rubbed when turned all the way to the left i also felt a shift in the front end. it wont do it when turned all the way to the right. i know i need new struts prolly have the factory ones under her. but income tax is comeing soon. btw i bought this car for 2000 trying to save her from being ragged out by a kid who dont care...this car is a beauty and has alot of potental...just gonan take some tlc. ~jerry~

ok i also put it on a lift and saw no apparent wear in gromets or tie rods, everything looked cosher and no play in the wheels when parked in the garage.....any ideas?
