Dropping the front...?
Hey all, I've got a problem that I don't recall seeing addressed here - the fender gap on my front end is a good bit higher than I see on other thirdgens, I just took a quick measurement & there's a little more than 3" between the top of the tire & the fender lip.
Now part of that is no doubt due to the different tire I'm running (245/50/Zr16 Firehawk SZ-50s), but that's still the same size tire that came stock on my GTA, so I'm thinking that the gap shouldn't be that large! The fender gap on the rear is more or less in line w/ what I see on other cars.
Yes, I've done a bit of lightening, but once I substitute the 'glass hood, aluminum heads & the rest of the weight-reduction mods I'm thinking of, it'll be even worse.
I've definitely planned on getting aftermarket lowering springs, but I want to make sure that the end result doesn't just carry the problem forward so that the car sits level when I'm done - I'd like to have just a slight rake to the car so that the front sits a bit lower than the rear, and the whole car is 1", maybe 1.5" lower. (I have practical reasons for wanting this...)
Would I best off just getting a custom/mixed set of Moog (or similar replacement-type) springs, rather than the Eibach/Hotchkis/whatever-brand units?

i cut half a coil off my stock springs and think the ride is fine.

I always recommend moog springs, since they're cheaper, and specs are similar.
You can chop the current front springs, or get new moog5662's, and chop half a coil off. That'd probably put you right where you want to be.

Check and see if your springs are in the cups properly.I thought mine was too high on one side and found out the spring was not sitting in it's cup properly.A little adjustment on the spring and ride height was perfect.
