tire and rim combo?

Can a 225/60/r16 fit a 16x8 or 16x9 wheel? ....

Transmission: G-Force rebuilt T-5

Axle/Gears: Currie 9" Ford 4.30:1

i know it can fit a 16x8 but not too sure about 16x9.. stock s-10 xtreme's are 16x8 with 235/55-16.. also, why would you want to put a 225 tire on a 9" rim???? go 275's or at least 255's.. it will look alot better..
