OK my 85 camaro has the "Wagon" wheels from a vette and it wonders BAD. It doesnt do it all the time. most of the time it will track straight then all of a sudden JOLT to one side or another... im talking a changing lane jolt. When this happens the steering wheel moves with it so i know the box isnt gone.
Again it isnt all the time just sometimes, the faster i go the worse it gets, also the worse the road is "bump wise" the worse it is.

Could my steering shaft be worn?
