how long is a subframe connector?
IM looking for prices on material to make my own SFC and I need to know how many feet I need to order to get a ballpark figure on the cost compared to just buying a set for $150 or so. I need the distance from the front mounting location for the LCA and the pointy at which the SFC welds to the front of the unibody. I DO NOT have my car to check the measurements.

Really depends on exactly where you're going to mount them. As mentioned above, 6 feet per side should give you lots of extra material. I think mine are about 4' long. You'll also need other material for gusseting, bracing etc.

I purchased a length of 1 3/4" DOM .135 wall tubing for my SFC. I ended up cutting them 5 1/2' for starters and they run the entire length of my rocker sill. If you look in fabrication under 1982 Silver State Project. You can see how I made mine. With them in the car you can not even tell they are there and they fit perfect. I think the tubing was about $2.30 per foot and I used some drop 7ga material for where they attach to the frame. I also put a additional bar in mine to support the new section of frame that I added for my crossmember.
I think materials cost me about $26.00 total.

Try Tube Service - www.tubeservice.com , Earle M. Jorgenson - www.emjmetals.com , or any shop in your area that might purchase tubing.
We have accounts at both of those places and also inside sales contacts. I am sure that we probably get special pricing due to the volume of materials that we purchase.
To give you an idea. I purchased 600' of 4130 tubing (various sizes) a while back to build a race car frame for a friend. He had got pricing on 400' of material and I was able to get the 600' for less then his price on 400'.
