New MOOG springs, thinking of cutting
I installed MOOG springs over a week ago and my car hasn't settled much. The springs are installed correctly and I have put more than one set in these cars. I have the WS6 replacement springs for my car and I have 4+ inches of clearance between the tire and fender. I have an LT1 in my car that weighs less than the factory TPI 305. Could this be what is causing it? I am thinking of cutting the springs but, I haven't been able to find anything conclusive on the matter. Would this be a bad idea? I am thinking 1/4 to 1/2 a coil.

An LT1 wouldn't cause your car to sit that high. An LS1 would though. New moog springs are normally quite high.
I think someone here said cutting half a coil (180 degrees) will drop you about an inch.

An inch would be perfect. I looked for an hour and I couldn't find any pics. That is mainly what I am looking for. I don't want to have to make several cuts. I want to know how much before I do it.

Your results may vary. Might come out to 1 inch +/- 1/4. But if you have 4 inchs of clearance, an extra quarter wont be so bad

I agree. I just measured it and both sides are right at 4 1/4". This has settled from over 5" when I put them in. I pulled out my lowering springs so I could have more clearance to run full length headers. This is ridiculous.

Update on cutting new Moog Springs
I cut a half a coil out of the front springs. I now have 3" of space between the fender and tire. If it stays this way I will be happy.

Just remember when you cut the spings they will settle again. It is like having another new set of springs.

I still don't think they will be as low as the lowering springs I had. Check out my cardomain site and you can see how low it was. I figure it will settle another 1/2 inch.

1.25" drop. I was about right. Will be good info for other people to know. Though it still seems like a large gap.

It doesn't look bad. It rides better with the new springs than with the lowering springs. Like I said, this is so I can run full length headers.

I really like the ride. It is stiff but, not too stiff. It is better than it was with the intrax springs.
