Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
The drive shaft loop keeps the front end of the drive shaft from falling out and hitting the pavement, if the front U-joint breaks (yes it really happens); which then basically pole-vaults the rear end when the drive shaft hits the ground. Total irrevocable unrecoverable loss of control of the car, often resulting in death. Alot of tracks won't let you on them without one. NHRA requires it beyond a certain speed or ET.

A U-joint can break even if all you've got is a 2.8 6-cylinder. More power might increase the chances; but it can hapen no how little power you've got.

IMO it's worth the $40. My money is where my keyboard is: I'm running the Spohn TA for T-56, WITH the drive shaft loop.

just get it.. you may not need it now but later on, if you break a joint, you will be happy you got it.. i blew the front u joint on my 91 ranger.. smashed up the heat shields pretty good.. luckily i have 4wd.. it was the worlds first front wheel drive ranger tearing up the streets.. lol
