lowering springs
i was thinking about lowering my 84 z28. i love the way it looks when a third gen is lowered, but i am not familiar with the pros/cons. i was considering the summit lowering springs, mainly because of price and i love summit. i live on back country roads and was wondering if there was a true problem of any scraping/ bottoming out. how will my ride change? and will my wheels rub if i install this set of springs...thanks

It's hard to answer without specifics. The drop does not seem too bad. You would know if your car can handle the roads. Do you think the roads will be friendly to a 1-1.5" drop. Do you bottom out now? If you have stock rim and tire sizes then it should not rub. But again I don't know what rims and rubber you are rubbing or if the car suspension has been modified. If the car is stock then the drop is not extreme.

Re: lowering springs
did you get the Summit Springs? I am searching for reviews on them, so if you got them, how are they? Would you recommend? I'd like to get them but $160 is a lot of money for a brand not proven.

Re: lowering springs
I'm gonna say call Sam Strano and have him help you with a set-up. Should be nice that way. I have Eibach Pro-Kits, and they are ok, but I want something a little better.
