Spohn Torque Arm?

How much difference will I feel with a new Spohn Torque Arm?

I'm very interested in purchasing one, and my engine is virtually stock.

I'd like to think my chassis is still pretty tight. When I upgraded to Sub Frame Connectors, I immediately felt the difference. However, when I added the Wonderbar and the Strut Tower Brace (at the same time), I felt no immediate difference. (Some members have noted a vast improvement)

Thanks!
Bill

I think you will notice mods such as the ones you have listed whe you start to push the car - track use for example. I too installed a wonderbar, a stb, sfc spohn tq.arm with the relocation bracket etc. etc.. I did all these in stages.
The two most noticable differences during general driving were the sfc and springs/struts - after this, the rest of the mods only really showed up on the track...

I'd recommend getting stronger LCAs and relo brackets first. I don't think the TQ Arm will do much good without them.

My car sat for years, but before it died I remember I could light the rears up no problem. Last year I rebuilt it with Spohn's LCA's, relo brackets, and TQ arm. Even with 3.73s under there now I have trouble getting things too break loose. I'd say its worth getting at some point, just not the first thing to get.

I still need to install the SFC I got.

I'm going to have to agree with this. I would start with the smaller stuff, and move up to the torque arm when everything else is done. Or, if you've got the cash, do them at the same time.

To answer your question though: when I got my Spohn TA, I noticed a HUGE difference. The car launched much, much better. It planted the tires and transferred weight much better than the old setup. I would definitely recommend it as one of those "must do" mods - but only when the rest has been done first.

i really cant bring up any real good comparisons from before and after... but in the summer time, my car went 1.80 60 foot with stock torque arm with 3.27 gears. it eventually went 1.79 60 foot in better weather but i had the distributor spark control (EST) wiring disconnected since i checked the timing...and forgot to plug it in. the car lost significant power. i think i could have done some 1.76-1.77's if i got the best launch i could, but who knows.

After the torque arm swap with -2 degrees pinion angle, and 4th gen rear end swap with 3.42 gears now, the car went 1.74-1.75 60 foots but i chirped the tires...i need LCA brackets on this rear end. i think i can get 1.72's out of it.

SO it may have only lead to a small change in 60 foot. Hard to say since those gears REALLY help the car.

If i was you, i'd spend the money elsewhere for now. the stock torque arm is more than capable of doing some very good 60 foots
